In the school year 2016/2017 we are participating, with students and librarian Mass Luteršmit from Elementary School Ljuba Šercerja in Kočevje, in a school project I’m reading, the two of us are reading, we’re reading. The project aim is to raise literacy. The students are corresponding by sending a letter four times a year, with a story, a picture, a song etc., which bring joy to the students of each class.
On Wednesday, 12th April 2017, our 8th and 9th class student were visiting Kočevje to complete the project. We were hospitably greeted and welcomed at the school gym. After the headmistress Mrs. Jožica Pečnik speech, the project manager, Maša Luteršmit, summed up the projects activities. She joined the best moments in a short video, which was followed by an instrumental play.
After we were pleased to meet and socialize in the school library, where we also prepared a short programme for them. We have proven that stories and songs bring people together. We believe this is also true for letters – when a postal worker delivers a letter, not to anyone, but exactly for you.
