S-FACTOR 2019

On Thursday, 31 January 2019, the activities of the international video festival S-Factor started again at the Milka Šobar-Nataše Elementary School. This year, 10 Slovene and 5 foreign institutions for children and youth with special needs, will compete with their short music videos. This remarkable festival, unique in Slovenia and in the European area but similar to the S-Factor event in the UK, is organized by the Elementary school Milka Šobar – Nataše Črnomelj for the third year now. The purpose of S-Factor is to spread awareness of the abilities of children with special needs and adolescents through short musical videos in which pupils with special needs and their peers participate in the production of short videos in a way they best can.
On Thursday, 31 January 2019, an international group of mentors first visited the school and its premises and became acquainted with the activities and projects that take place at our school. S-Factor project mentor, Vlasta Lah, informed the participants about this year’s project and rules of this year’s festival. The mentors then participated at the workshop ‘How to make a good video’ under professional management of Tomislav Urh.

They learned how to film, record and install a short video. The Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Črnomelj, Mr. Dubravko Čengija, also welcomed the participants.
How good our children are as actors, directors, singers, dancers, and more are, you will be able to see at the beginning of May, when videos will be accessible to the public on the web, where you will be also able to vote for your favourite.
Today we are showing you the video from Video S-Factor 2017 “Be Different” II.  Elementary school from Slovenj Gradec, which has more than 23,000 views online. All videos from previous years are also on display at the school web site.
The festival is part of the support activities for the benefit of persons with special needs of the Centre for professional assistance and support for children and youth with special needs and their families.
The investment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Social Fund.
