2nd Place at the International Badminton Tournament “Tuzla Open 2022”

Thursday the 20th October, we started a journey to Tuzla, where on Friday the 21st, we took part in the 4th Traditional International Inclusive Badminton Tournament. Schools with programs for children with disabilities and regular elementary schools participated in the tournament.

Our school was represented by Rok and Žan, both did an excellent job and qualified for the tournament’s finals.

After an unfortunate draw in the quarterfinals, Rok had to face a player, who later won the tournament, and lose the game 1:2.

Žan reliably dealt with his opponents in the quarterfinals and semi-finals, and qualified for the grand final of the tournament. The start was excellent, as Žan took won the first set, but later on the opponent took the initiative and beat him 2:1.

The final results:

1st  place Maid Osmerović, Elementary School Duboki Potok, Bosnia and Herzegovina

2nd  place Žan Vrbanec Jerman, Elementary School Milke Šobar – Nataše Črnomelj, Slovenia

3rd place Faris Bajrić, Elementary School Mejdan Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina

The tournament was not only competitive, as we took a tour of the city of Tuzla, met new friends and, above all, enjoyed the hosts hospitality.

We would like to thank Denis Severinski, Janez Stopar, and Radivoj Simić for making it possible for us to perform in Tuzla, and JU Zavod Tuzla for organizing an excellent event.

We received the highest award of the Republic of Slovenia in the field of education for 2022

Yesterday’s World Teachers’ Day for the employees of Milke Šobar – Nataše Elementary School was no ordinary teacher’s day. It was the day when in Ljubljana, in the main hall of Hotel Union, the school received the highest award of the Republic of Slovenia for outstanding achievements in the field of education, namely for the field of education of children with special needs.

With great joy and pride, it was accepted on behalf of the employees by the temporary principal Matjaž Barič, otherwise a longtime principal of our school.

The Independence Day of Brazil

On Tuesday, September 7 th , 2021, the Brazilian Ambassador, His Excellency Renato Mosca
de Souza, organized a celebration at the National Gallery in Ljubljana, to commemorate the
Brazilian Independence Day. Representatives of the Milke Šobar – Nataše Primary School
were also invited. The speaker at the event was also our longtime friend and benefactor, Mr.
Andrej Sever and it was he who initiated the ambassador's visit to our schools two years ago. All of us, fondly remember his visit to our school, as the Ambassador presented us with a computer and books from Brazilian authors.

The event on Tuesday was a great opportunity to meet new friends. The Brazilian Embassy
donated to the guests of the event a bilingual picture book by Peter Ilgo.

His Excellency, we wish you much success and all the best in faraway Canada!

‘When you’ll come to Bled’

‘When you’ll come to Bled’ is a famous Slovene song, which we sang on Wednesday, 16 June 2021, on school’s final excursion to Bled. The excursion was a donation to the organizer of the S-Factor festival by the Bled Culture Institute.

We started the day in Bled with an adrenaline rush as we visited summer tobogganing Straža Bled. We took the chairlift to a nearby hill, from which we had the most beautiful view of the Lake Bled. The bravest students descended into the valley on a sledding track, while the others preferred a panoramic footpath. After all the excitement there were pizzas waiting for us as well as a vanilla dessert for which Bled is famous for Blejska kremšnita from Kavarna Park.

When we refreshed ourselves (some even jumped in the lake), the bus took us to Bled Castle, from where we saw the most amazing view of the lake and its surroundings. Tired and full of wonderful experiences, we returned home with a promise to visit Bled again.

We would like to thank the Bled Culture Institute, the Bled Infrastructure, Camping Bled Restaurant & Pizzeria, Sava Turizem – Kavarna Park restaurant and especially Mr. Boštjan Ploštajner for a truly unforgettable day.

Colorful Final Event of The S-Factor 2021

On Thursday, 27th May 2021, we held the final event of the S-Factor 2021 International Video Festival. This year, apart from others, it took place via ZOOM app. This though, presented no obstacle for participating schools, as we got used to this kind of meeting, teaching and learning while online schooling.

We entrusted hosting of this year’s event to Robert Erjavec, who guided the video event with confidence and above all, he was fun. In the cultural program, some of the participating schools introduced themselves and their thoughts on the rainbow. The events highlight was definitely announcement of the best videos, fist thoughts from the winners and genuine emotions of joy and happiness seen on camera.

We truly thank Robert Erjavec, all participating schools, our donors and promotors, members of the organizing team and all people who carry a rainbow in the heart. THANK YOU!
